Sòlas Yoga understands that the ancient practice of yoga can offer skills to help us navigate the pathways of modern life, bringing comfort and joy into our body, breath and being.

Yoga can be understood as mindful movement—a practice where the body and mind move together with awareness. Instead of rushing through exercises, yoga invites you to pay attention to breath, sensations, and alignment as you move from one posture to the next. Each movement is intentional, guided by the breath, helping cultivate presence, balance, and calm.

Workplace wellbeing

Sòlas Yoga has a special interest in supporting those who work in the health, community care, and charity sectors.  Ali has over 30 years experience working in these sectors and understands the unique challenges of staying well in systems that often emotionally, mentally and physically deplete us.  

Sòlas Yoga can assist you and your team with simple movement, breath and meditation practices that can be incorporated into the working day to enhance physical and psychological wellbeing. These holistic practices support nervous system regulation by acting as circuit breakers to interrupt chronic stress cycles and can help individuals control their physiological stress responses.

About Ali

My journey with yoga started over thirty years ago with a high school fitness class and is now central to my wellbeing practice.

My early experiences caring for family lead me first into the nursing profession and then into social work.  I have worked as a disability carer, registered nurse, social worker, and care coordinator in settings such as large acute-care hospitals, community disability teams, donation-funded charities and NGOs. Throughout all of this, I have returned to yoga and mindfulness practices to keep me well and to enable me to show up for the people I work for and with.

I understand the challenges of staying well in a sector that often depletes our physical, mental and emotional energy. And I bring this direct experience into my yoga classes and wellbeing sessions to guide you towards a more grounded, mindful life.
